Head Coach: John Fitch Colors: Red & White Re: South Meck High School Boys Varsity Basketball
Dear Friend: August 26, 2011

We are writing to you today to request a donation, merchandise, gift cards or other sponsorships from you to help fund the continued growth and development of the Boys Basketball Team here at South Mecklenburg High School for the 2011 2012 school year. Under the coaching and direction of third year Coach John Fitch, the South Mecklenburg High School Boys Basketball Team is experiencing unprecedented success and development. Following the 2009 2010 school year, when the Sabres had a conference won/lost record of 1 win and 8 losses and an overall record of 3 wins and 20 losses, they shot up to 8 conference wins and only 6 conference losses in the 2010 and 2011 school year while scoring victories in 12 games overall. This won/loss record was good enough for them to jump from a last place conference finish in 2010 to a third place finish in 2011. For the first time in 8 seasons, the South Meck Sabres qualified and played in the NCHSAA 4A State Basketball Tournament in 2011. Now we are asking for your help so that Coach Fitch and the Sabres can continue to build upon this success and to realize their goal of ultimately winning the NCHSAA Boys Basketball 4A State Championship. In addition to needing basketball warm ups, basketball shoes, and pre-game meals, the team also needs funds for traveling to high profile Holiday Basketball Tournaments in December and funds for participating in a developmental team basketball camp at the end of the season at a major college or university. Our ultimate goal is to raise $5,000. Since South Mecklenburg High School is a nonprofit educational institution with a 501 c 3 tax exempt status, your donation payable to South Mecklenburg High School Booster Club c/o the Boy s Basketball Fund Raising Initiative, may be used as an offset to your corporate or personal federal income tax liability. Thank you very much for your cooperation and support. The Committee and Contacts, Rhonda Phifer 704-726-2443 Jennifer Berl 704-965-4153
