Basic wiring summary: all cabling has been marked for connections. A separate box of cables for WaterPolo has been set aside. Every cable in Water Polo cabling box needs to find its corresponding components: ARES Scoreboard connector on the junction box Start/Stop switch (game time) Button Horn Shot Clocs

1. Connection to the ARES Console The connection to the IF-ARES is done by a RS-232 cable (serial cable) At start up, the program checks if the IF-ARES is connected, and a message box appears if no connection can be made. If this message box appears, the causes can be The IF-ARES has NOT been switched on. The cable is not connected.

The cable is connected to the wrong serial port. In this case, you can either move the cable or select another port from the PC software. If the program has found the IF-ARES, it launches the waterpolo module and the red LED on the IF-ARES starts to blink. If another module is already active on the IF-ARES, you will be asked to switch it off and on again. When software loads, new directory is created for each game you can leave it at default (WP1, WP2 etc.) or rename it to a meaningful name you, such as 2008Season_Game1_HarkerVsGuest
