    A Peek at Our Week


    Reading:
    As we continue our Readers Build Good Habits unit, our focus this week will be on workshop procedures. Topics will include noise levels, travel around the room during readers workshop, partner reading, and staying focused.

    Important School Events

    Writing:
    In writing we will continue to practice putting our thoughts on paper as we choose topics from our Expert List we have already completed! In addition to writing about things of choice, we will chart September words and add on to our Writers Checklist!

    Reading Logs!
    Wow! This week will mark the end of August! Your child will need to turn their August Reading Log in by Thursday, September 1st. I will in turn send home a new Reading Log for September! THANKS!!!

    Math:
    This week we will commit to diving deeper into counting, ordering and comparing numbers. During math workshop, the children will participate in several partner and/or group activities that reinforce these skills.

    Science/Social Studies:
    Plants and Animals Living and Non-Living
