Supervision, as moral action,

can be understood as an effort on the part of supervisors to participate in a community of other moral agents, each of which is struggling to do the right thing, according to some sense of values.

It involves choosing and taking action; a seeking for values, and an intentional promotion of a principle. It is dynamic, not reactionary, enriching the environment rather than satisfying some need from the environment.
