Form

Regular verbs are formed by adding -ed. This is the rule for all persons.

The negative is formed with didn't + verb. didn't = did not

Spelling Rules

Usually, we add -ed
! started acting in 1978.
! talked with lots of famous people

!f the verb ends in -e, add -d.
! really loved acting.
! arrived at work at 7:00

!f the verb ends in a consonant + y, change the -y to -ied.
Natt studied business at university.
He married Joan.

!f the verb has only one syllable ending in a vowel + a consonant, double the consonant.
Natt stopped acting when he was a teenager.
He and Joan planned a new future together.
