Navigation Watch: Navigation must be strategizes as to prevent a hazardous situation, proper planning must be laid down. Charts/ Maps: The Charts of the route must be prepared in advance to as to get a clear picture of the hurdles in the route and the water depth Past Evaluations: If the same problem has occurred in the past, it must be evaluated for future. Ignorance: Ignorance on the part of the navigator must be avoided.

Precautions as a strategic manager

Check Flooding: flooding occurs when the ship hits the ground and water starts to seep inside. Incase when flooding starts its better not to move or drag the ship as the level of flooding might increase. Astern(Backward Movement): When the ship gets grounded then apply astern action ie: backward movement so as to release the ship from the ground and get back to its free movement.
