    The Pacific Maritime Association notified members that ILWU Local 13 will hold a stop-work meeting for second shift only on September 15, 2011 between 5:00 pm and 3:00 am. No longshore labor will be available during these hours except for passenger ships, essential military cargo, rail, and emergencies. The union agreed to a one-hour extension until 6:00 pm to finish vessels and complete guarantees. If no second shift is planned for September 15, workers will accept comebacks from September 14-16 second shifts. The meeting is authorized under the labor contract.

    September 8, 2011 BULLETIN NO. SBUL-0013-2011 TO MEMBERS: ILWU Local 13 Stop-Work Meeting "Second Shift" The Pacific Maritime Association has been notified by the officials of ILWU Local 13 that they will hold a Stop-Work Meeting on Thursday, September 15, 2011, second shift only, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. No longshore labor will be available for work from the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011, except for passenger ships, essential military cargo, DST rail, and emergencies, as defined in Section 5.24 of the Contract. The Union has agreed a one-hour extension up to 6:00 p.m. will be allowed to finish and sail vessels and to complete the 8-hour guarantee for 9:00 a.m. vessel starts, pursuant to Section 2.41 of the PCL&CA. Where no second shift is contemplated due to the Stop-Work Meeting on Thursday, September 15, 2011, workers will accept comebacks from Wednesday, September 14, 2011, second shift, to Friday, September 16, second shift. Since this meeting is scheduled as provided for in Section 12.31 of the PCL&CA, it is considered an authorized Stop-Work Meeting.
