MI-09: GQR Poll For Gary Peters (10/6-7)
A survey1 of likely Michigan 9th Congressional district voters earlier this year shows Democrat
Gary Peters holds a 43 to 40 percent lead over incumbent Congressman Gary Peters.
Independent Jack Kevorkian only garners five percent of the vote.
Vote
Peters 43
Knollenberg 40
Kevorkian 5
Campbell 2
Goodman 3
Undecided 8
Knollenberg only receives an excellent or good job performance rating from 34 percent of
voters, including just 27 percent of Independents. More voters hold unfavorable feelings toward
him than favorable feelings (29 percent favorable, 35 percent unfavorable).
Peters holds a lead despite a significant disadvantage in name recognition among voters; while
Knollenberg is identified by 80 percent of voters, Peters is still being introduced to voters and is
identified by 48 percent.
Peters is in a strong position for the November contest, making this race a strong pickup
opportunity for the Democratic Party.
