    India and Japan signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in Tokyo on February 16, 2011.

    The objective of the agreement is to liberalise and facilitate trade in goods and services between the parties. Bilateral trade between the two countries currently amounts to $10.36 billion per annum.

    India on 13 May 2011 signed a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) with the Republic of Colombia for the avoidance of double taxation and for the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income. The Agreement was signed by Sudhir Chandra, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes on behalf of the Government of India and by Juan Alfredo Pinto Saavedra, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to India, on behalf of the Republic of Colombia.

    India signed a total of seven agreements with Kazakhstan including a civil nuclear deal at Astana on 16 April 2011 during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singhs visit to Kazakhstan

    On Feb.16th, Baosteel Resources Co., Ltd. signed 2011 chromium iron purchase agreement with Indian FACOR Group, a consecutive second year of such long-term agreement.
