Presumed Consent

This means that everyone, when they die, donates their organs to hospitals for transplants unless they opt out. Currently you have to register to be an organ donor.

4/15/12

A lot of people are willing to donate organs, but cant be bothered to register. The waiting list for transplants is very long, so some people have to wait a long time before they find a donor. Some may die before they can get a transplant because they cant find a donor in time.

If presumed consent was used then a lot more organs would be available to 4/15/12
