The document provides guidelines for checking floor framing plans, known as erection plans, against contract drawings. It lists 12 items to check, including verifying the scale and orientation of plans, locations and shapes of columns and beams, beam bearing conditions, elevations, and inclusion of section cuts to clearly show framing.

1. 2. 3. 4. Check the scale of the drawing Check the North as per the contract drawing. Confirm if it is Actual North or Plan North. Check the grid line numbering and grid line spacing with the contract drawing Check the positions and shape of steel columns along the grid lines. Also check the orientation of the columns as per the contract drawing (e.g. whether a W-shape column is placed in Iorientation or H-orientation) If the columns are not located on grid intersection points, check the distance of columns from adjacent grid lines Check if any column shown on the contract drawing is not drawn on the erection plan. Check the shapes of steel beams along the grid lines Check the beam bearing condition (i.e. whether it is supported by a column or supported on a wall by bearing plate) Check if a beam is ended at the column or it is continuous (running over the column) Check the top of steel (TOS) elevation of the beams very carefully If there is any sloped beam check the top elevation of beam at both ends Check if adequate section cuts are provided on the plan to facilitate the erector in perceiving the actual framing conditions.
