is a composite unit controlling IR sensor, DTMF encoder and FM transmitter. The FM transmitter
transmits the DTMF encoded sensor signal to microcontroller unit. The microcontroller unit
receives and decoded the transmitted signal. With reference to the signal received the gate is
either closed or opened along with an alarm. The future enhancement of the project is that the kit
handling can be protected from unauthorized users with the help of password. This project is one
of the advanced project the concept of project was also published in 2003 EFY magazine as a
research work Indian railway is one of the huge railways in Asia hence this project will be
worthful and reduces the labour cost.

microcontroller in turn drives a interactive voice decoder and also establishes a phone connection
to the police and fire service also the device warns about the dangerous temperature level that
may cause fire by a loud alarm.
This project is a model of a bomb detector. For a demo purpose, we assume that a bomb
emits IR rays (actually a bomb contains metal fillings and chemical, which is violently
combustible. The actual sensor is sensible to metals and chemicals used in bomb). The ROBOT
consists of IR receiver and microcontroller unit, which drive the wheels of the ROBOT via pairs
of DC motors. The receiver pairs placed at the front of the ROBOT resemble that of a car
headlight. The ROBOT revolves round for a valid IR signal from the bomb. If it picks the IR rays
it moves towards it and warns a loud siren about the presence of bomb. It also gives a voice alert
about the presence of the bomb. If this project is implemented practically with some extra
features such as calling to police, fire service etc., it can be done.

SENSING AND OBJECT GUIDING ROBOT

This funny ROBOT automatically detects the obstacle in front of it and changes its
direction of moving automatically. The principle behind is the IR rays which is reflected back
when there is an obstacle. The two pair of IR trans-receiver is placed in front of the ROBOT,
which resembles a car headlight. Whenever the light is reflected back the ROBOT notices that
there is an Obstacle and changes its direction by the instruction of microcontroller. A buzzer may
be added whenever the ROBO senses the obstacle. This project reflects our programming and
hard ware interfacing skill.

This project describes a method of interfacing micro controllers. This implementation uses a
minimum of micro controller resources. The micro controller performs the intelligence and
arithmetic functions for ultrasonic ranging, while the T-40 and R-40 Module performs the

EMS 2014. INTELLIGENT HOME SECRUITY SYSTEM USING
INTERACTIVE VOICE RESPONSIVE SYSTEM
This project consists of few pairs of IR trans-receivers placed at various openings such as
door, windows, ventilators etc., The microcontroller scans for the interruption of sensors. While a
interruption is noticed the microcontroller alerts us with a loud alarm and calls the police
automatically and informs the place of theft by driving a IVR( Interactive Voice Response Unit).
A display also indicates the place of disturbance noticed.

EMS 2018. FUEL INJECTION CONTROL VALVE
The Valve movement can be controlled by the 89C51 µC.with very effective ways. In
Automobile Industries the fuel injection valve can control the fuel through the channel.
Suppose flow of fuel or pressure in the channel is high then the valve should control the flow.
If not the whole system will blast. To avoid this situation we can use the microcontroller to
reduce this kind of technical error. This valve can be controlled using amplifier circuit.

Now a days saving power is much essential in an industrial applications. PWM is a
modern trend for controlling the speed of Industrial motors which reduces the power loss as heat.
A dual timer is accomplished with microcontroller so as to generate PWM. The pulse width is
controlled by keypad. The output of microcontroller is optically coupled to the motor driving
unit( thyristors). Thus this unit allows to run a motor with five speed levels, which includes halt
condition. The optical coupling is done here to prevent AC return from motor. Thus this project
is much better than transistorized power control.

In this project we can control external devices using mobile phones. The
DTMF Technology is used to Control Devices. In this project we need two phone connections
one is the land line and another one is the mobile phone connection, the user should dial the land
line number to establish a connection between the landline and the mobile after that the user
should dial the device number through the mobile phone the gadget automatically detects the ring
and automatically switches on/off the external devices the famous atmel 89c52 microcontroller is
used in this project the relays are used for device controlling.

approximate speed of the wind and its direction of blow the project uses an pressure sensor
whose resistance changes as per the wind pressure the output of the pressure sensor is fed to the
microcontroller for further calculation of speed thereby displaying it on the 7 segment display the
angle is detected by means of IR transceivers the output of the IR Trans-receiver is used to
display the direction of wind in an seven segment display.

This project utilizes an atmel 89c52 microcontroller to monitor the speed of a vehicle the project
uses a pair of IR sensor whose output changes as per the movement the output of the sensor pairs
are fed to the microcontroller for warning about the over speed microcontroller also warns about
the over speed by means of alarm and a dialer system may also be added so that it dials to certain
number and informs about the over speeding the sensors are to be mounted over a narrow way so
that the test vehicle may pass through it thereby enabling the measurement of time difference for
crossing certain distance the speed is the calculated by the formula speed = distance/time

EMS 2046. COMPUTER CONTROLLED MOBILE ROBOT
This robot can sense the commands given from the pc printer port by means of an
decoder and can change its direction of motion. By given key commands from the pc key board
this project can be implemented with two types of technology (i.e.) the wheel movement can be
done using the stepper motor or by means of dc motor the control via the dc motor yields more
speed of motion for robot and the controlling is also much efficient when compared with that of
the stepper motor based drive when a control key is pressed from the key board of pc the c
program processes it and sends the control signal over the pc printer port the robot starts moving
as per the decoded key values the microcontroller controls the overall motion of the robot the pc
is used to send the control signals i.e. it acts as front-end of this project. The whole processing
and directing of the robot is done over by the microcontroller AT89c51

The circuit features automatic exit and entry delays, timed bell cut-off and system reset. It has
provision for normally open and normally closed switches and will suit the usual input devices
(Pressure Mats, Magnetic Reed contacts, Foil Tape, PIRs and Inertia Sensors). When the power is
applied, if there's a fault the buzzer will sound and you should switch off again and check for
open doors, windows, etc. If everything is in order the buzzer will NOT sound and the exit delay
will begin. You have about 30 seconds to leave the building. When you return the buzzer will
sound. You then have about 30 seconds to switch off; otherwise the siren will sound. It will go on
sounding indefinitely. However, if the building is re-secured the siren will switch off after about
10 minutes and the alarm will reset.
This is a complete alarm system with 5 independent zones suitable for a small office or home
environment. It uses just 3 CMOS IC's and features a timed entry / exit zone, 4 immediate zones
and a panic button. There are indicators for each zone a "system armed" indicator. The schematic
is as follows. Each zone uses a normally closed contact. These can be micro switches or standard
alarm contacts (usually reed switches). Suitable switches can be bought from alarm shops and
concealed in doorframes, or window ledges.
Once set any contact that opens will trigger the alarm, including Zone 1. To prevent triggering the
alarm on entry to the building, the concealed re-entry switch must be operated. This will
discharge C6 and start the entry timer. The re-entry switch could be a concealed reed switch,
located anywhere in a doorframe, but invisible to the eye. The panic switch, when pressed, will
trigger the alarm when set. Relay contacts RLA1 provide the latch, RLA2 operate the siren or
buzzer.
In this demo model we have made a HDS, which uses RF 27 MHZ communication instead of
actual microwave communication. This project actually tracks a HUMAN and gives the area info
of that PERSON to the control station thus this project, can also be stated as HUMAN monitor. In
this model we provide necessary tower, which resembles similar to a cell phone networking while
the vehicle lies inside the coverage of particular tower, the tower name is displayed in an LCD
display, which is actually placed in the control station that is few meters away. The
TRANSMIITER that is placed with the person emits modulated RF rays, the RF receivers placed
in the tower picks the RF rays emitted while the vehicle is inside the coverage range of that
particular tower and the each tower is assigned with unique DTMF CODES while IR rays are
picked by the tower it in turn generates a DTMF signal which is transmitted to the control station
by a low power FM transmitter the FM receiver placed at the control station picks the FM signal
and demodulates and retrieves back the DTMF signal. The DTMF decoder placed after the
receiver section converts the DTMF tones into binary codes, the binary data is fed to the micro
controller AT89c51 in turn drives a LCD display, which displays the area information.

the chatting via the RS232 port is done in this project thus the project allows the 2 persons to chat
with another person just by a 2 wire link.
The artificial image reconstruction project is mainly an algorithm verification project. We use the
C as front which gets the input through the serial communication from the microcontroller the
input is 4 x 4 keypad the data from the keypad is displayed in a 4 x 4 matrix display the data from
the keypad is fed to the PC via the serial port the C program reads the data and checks it for the
correct format using various possible algorithm of neural network then the corrected output is
generated and is displayed in a LED array via the PC parallel port.

The project automatically turns on the cooler or heater by comparing the environmental
temperature with the input that is obtained from the keypad. The project uses the AT89c51
controller as its heart. The relays to activate cooler and heater is derived from the ports of
controller, while a LCD display shows the current temperature reading and preset reading a small

keypad is also interfaced to get the input temperature level to be maintained. When the
temperature drops below specified value the heater is switched on and when the temperature
found more than input value the cooler is turned on automatically.
This project is able to control the speed of the motor either by stepped format or
by the linear format using the cell phone as the controlling unit. The concept of interfacing the
GSM unit with hardware is done with the help of the DTMF encoder and de-coder. Using the cell
we can generate the DTMF signal. The project consists of two modules one is handset set that is
the cell phone and the other module is receiving section the receiving section module is
connected to a land line phone connection the user should call the land line number using the
mobile phone the gadget connected in the destination landline automatically attend the call and
now the user should dial the respective numbers which are assigned for the respective direction
the DTMF decoder fitted to land line converts the received numbers to a binary format which is
given to the micro controller the controller further processes the data and correspondingly drives
the motor with various speed levels.
The GSM mobile (Nokia basic model –1100) can be used to control the direction of movement
of the robot or else it can be made to go for a circular clockwise or anticlockwise direction the
concept of this project is the DTMF signaling to access the project the user should dial the mobile
number and then the assigned to perspective direction via a land line or cell phone the gadget
connected to the cell phone detects the ring and automatically attends the call from the mobile
and gets the key pressed the microcontroller reads the key and drives the robot correspondingly
the whole core processing of this project is done using the AT89c51 microcontroller.
The project can control the electronic appliances using the cell phone. The achieve this we need
two cell phone where the one is the master while the other is the slave the person should dial the
slave mobile number as soon as the slave rings the controller automatically attends the call and
now the user should now dial the device number to be controlled as soon as the number is dialed
the controller reads the number dialed and controls the respective devices the controller used is
the AT89c51 micro controller the other external devices required are the external earpiece and the
two mobile phones of same type and make.

This project monitors the various devices that are the status of the devices is announced through
the mobile phone. When sending the particular device number to the receiving unit by mobile
phone (GSM unit), receiving unit identify the number and sends the signal to the particular
device then the device will turns on or off. Here the status of the device is stored in a voice-
recording chip for giving the feedback to the mobile phone. The receiving unit consists of DTMF
encoder & decoder and device-controlled relays.

voice recording chip as ON or OFF is triggered. This status is feed backed to the corresponding
mobile phone.

data further and sends the control output via the parallel.
This project used to read the brain activities. Here we can control the electrical equipments by
reading the movements of our eyeball. In this project IR sensor takes major role. Here we are
designing a special spectacle containing IR sensors. The sensor is placed in the middle of the
spectacle that is the sensor has to sense the movement of the eyeball. When the eyeball goes
outside of the sensing region, the IR sensor gives signal to the microcontroller, and then further
processes starts that are the signal sending to the equipment for turn ON or OFF. According to the
direction of the eyeball we are moving, we can control two equipments.
This system could be the start of a completely automated and configurable motor speed
control structure in which direction of motor could be precisely controlled. Using the lines
already installed in your homes, allows this design to reach anywhere in your house or
business.

The power line faults such as phase-to-phase fault and phase to earth fault can be monitored in
this project. The data from various zones can be collected and the corresponding zones can be
isolated and information can be given in a intelligent LCD display. The whole work is done with
the help of 89c51 controller. The controller processes the various inputs and displays it when
necessary the load sharing can also be done during overloading conditions using this project.
The level of frequency we are planned to permit can be set in microcontroller. The filters circuit
takes major role for avoiding the noise.
