DELTA LOOP Antenna on 26-30 MHz (10-11m)

Shematic sight of your antenna 3 elements on 27.305 MHz

DELTA LOOP Antenna 3 on 27.305 MHz :

The wavelength
The corresponding wavelength "lambda" is : 10.986998718183 meters. so approximatly L = 10.987 m

Constitution of the antenna's triangles (deltas)

Each triangle being equilateral, the three sides have same length and the work frequency determines the dimensions of the triangles. The sides are in Aluminum pipes (3005 quality) for exemple. They will be built in two parts. One fixed length of 3.00 m consisted the pipe with a 20 mm diameter and the other part with a 16 mm diameter pipe. The higher part of the deltas will be in flexible copper wire of 2.5 mm with electric lugs at each end. This principle will be used for all the elements of the antenna.

Dimensions of all the elements

Reflector -> Overall length of the triangle : 11.43 m Then 3 sides with a length like c = 3.81 m. REF : |----------------------------------- a = 3.00 m -----------------------------------|------- b = 0.81 m -------| Radiator -> Overall length of the triangle : 11.097 m Then 3 sides with a length like c = 3.699 m.

RAD : |----------------------------------- a = 3.00 m -----------------------------------|------- b = 0.699 m -------| Director 1 -> Overall length of the triangle : 10.764 m Then 3 sides with a length like c = 3.588 m. D1 : |----------------------------------- a = 3.00 m -----------------------------------|------- b = 0.588 m -------| Caution ! Envisage for the pipes with a 16 mm diameter constituting the two high ends of the triangle, a sufficient length inside the 20 mm diameter pipes between 100 and 250 mm for example.

Spacings
Different possible spacings that you can use according to the wavelength L are : 0.25 L = 2.774 m - 0.20 L = 2.219 m - 0.17 L = 1.886 m - 0.15 L = 1.665 m - 0.13 L = 1.443 m et 0.10 L = 1.11 m My personal experiment enabled me to obtain excellent results for a 3 elements antenna with like spacing : 0.20 L and 0.17 L so e1 = 2.219 m and e2 = 1.886 m.
