SUMMARY

I have a little flag to wave. It has red, white and blue on it. Some of the big people have big flags. Some are like mine but some are other colours. They are not waving them. They are holding them up in front of their faces. Their faces look very sad, like Mummys and Grandmas and Granddads. I am not sad. I am happy because my Daddys coming home today!

People that have flags do not wave them, instead they look like in grief.

Alices dad had unfairly been taken away from her six months previously, just before her 10th birthday. He now lived in a big grey house, up on a hill, with steel bars and a giant ogre preventing his escape. As well as the weekly phone call, Alice sent him lots of letters and pictures (mostly of her defeating the evil ogre and setting her treasured dad free)
