    HISTORY

    First human beings in Iceland were in 850a.C. Then, some peoples lived there a life based on fishing and agriculture.

    First known fixed settlement was in 874. From 1262 was part of Norway and Denmark.

    1944 was declared independent.

    POLITICAL SITUATION

    Representative democracy and Parliamentary republic. Parliament full centre-right parties. President : lafur Ragnar Grmsson.

    Since the Vikings, there have been a lot of legends in Iceland, here is the summary of one of them.

    Iceland is a very nice country. It has very beautiful and interesting places that you can visited, like the Asbyrgi, the glaciers of Iceland, the Skaftafell or the Vestmanneyjar.
