1) Cough and Colds as Health Deficit

Inability to provide nursing care to sick member of the family due to inadequate knowledge of the nature and the extent of nursing care needed.

After 4 days of Home visit, the family take the necessary actions/ measures to prevent and properly manage cough and colds.

After 4 days of Home visit, the family will:

1. Discuss the causes and effect of the disease process.

Materials Required:

-Visual Aids -understand the causes, nature and extent of the disease. 2. Emphasize the importance of hygiene.

-Time and effort of the nurse and the family.

-enumerate ways to prevent the spread of infection within the family members.

3. Provide ways to prevent the spread of infection and maintenance of personal hygiene like doing proper hand washing.

-Expenses for teaching

-recognize the importance of hygiene.
