JOB DESIGN QUESTIONNAIRRES

Job design refers to the way that a set of tasks, or an entire job, is organized. It takes into account all factors which affect the work, and organizes the content and tasks so that the whole job is less likely to be a risk to the employee. 1. Who and from what department are the people who design jobs for different areas? 2. How do they design it? Which methods they use and how the analysis is done? 3. How well do your job descriptions fit your current hotel work processes? 4. Do your job descriptions really help u measure and manage performance? 5. How else could your supervisors help their staff do their best? 6. How can your job design help with the organization of work? Rate the following problems it addresses on a Likert scale: (5 being most helpful and one paying no heed) a. Work overload b. Work under load c. Filling vacant positions d. Working hours flexibility e. Stress in the workplace f. Repetitiveness of jobs g. Isolation h. Shift work 7. How will u say that your job design is good? Do they accommodate employees mental and physical characteristics by paying attention to: (a) muscular energy such as work/rest schedules or pace of work, and (b) mental energy such as boring versus extremely difficult tasks. 8. What are your approaches to job design? (Common approaches include Job enlargement; Job enrichment; Job Rotation; Work design (job engineering)? 9. How do you define the overall goals of your job design? In terms of : a. Task variety b. Work breaks/ Rest Breaks c. Allowance for an Adjustment Period d. Provide Training e. Vary mental activities etc.
