Steven McCurry is an American photographer born in 1950 known for his photograph "Afghan Girl" taken in 1985. “Unexpected, the moment of serendipity” -Steven McCurry • Born in Philadelphia in 1950 • He pursued film at Pennsylvania State University and had ambitions to become a documentary film maker. • In 1978 he joined a newspaper and went abroad as a freelance photographer.
