John Forbes Nash

His father was an electrical engineer and he is

named after his father. His most important works are in game theory, differential geometry, and partial differential equations. Nash is the subject of the hollywood movie A Beautiful Mind. The film is based on his biography .

PERSONAL LIFE
In 1955, Nash went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an Instructor in the mathematics faculty. He got Married in 1957 to a physics student from El Salvador.
He was admitted to a mental hospital in 1959

for schizophrenia and was discharged in 1970. In 1994, Nash won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.

Academic Life
He graduated with a Master's Degree in only three years.
Nash was accepted by Harvard University but

he chose Princeton as he was offered the John S. Kennedy fellowship there. He earned a doctorate in 1950 under the supervision of Albert W. Tucker.

In 1978, Nash was awarded the John von Neumann Theory Prize for his discovery of non-cooperative equilibrium, now called as the Nash equilibrium.
