FIRST DEPARTMENT TO BE PRIVAYTIZED? Privatization Advisory Committee (PAC) to begin its review process:
The internal Audit function of Frederick County Government is the first department to be reviewed for out-sourcing. The Partnerships
(Privatization) and Efficiencies Committee (PEC) recommended that the BOCC proceed with a Request for Proposal (RFP). Internal Audit provides performance audits for Frederick County Government, Frederick County Board of Education (BOE) and Frederick Community College (FCC) to ensure accountability and oversight.

This is your opportunity to learn about internal audits government operates and share your concerns with the Privatization Advisory Committee and ultimately the Board of County Commissioners.
"In an effort to promote and encourage public participation and transparency in the partnerships and efficiencies process the County Commissioners created a Privatization Advisory Committee (PAC), to review the data and information received by the Partnerships (Privatization) and Efficiencies Committee (PEC), and to provide input, suggestions and recommendations to the full committee and eventually to the County Commissioners in regard to possible and potential financial savings through public-private partnerships. The Frederick Board of County Commissioners recently appointed members to the Committee in the following categories: 1) Citizens: Jim Grimes, Mark Kreslins, Don Linton and Seymour Stern. 2) Frederick County Government Employees: Leigh Fields, Interagency Information Technologies Division, and Gary

Hessong, Community Development Division. 3) Municipal: Mayor Carroll Jones, City of Brunswick."

Please share this with your neighbors, friends, family and colleagues. As is true with privatizing county inspectors, it is an issue we should all research and know what the costs and benefits are to our local government and our citizens! PLEASE try to attend!
