    Clyfford Still was an American abstract expressionist painter born in 1904 in North Dakota. He began his career disliking art but grew to focus on abstract works. Philip Guston and Franz Kline were influential friends who helped Still develop his style and gain admission to art colleges. Still produced hundreds of abstract paintings and is recognized as a pioneer of Abstract Expressionism, with a museum now dedicated to his work. He died in 1980 at the age of 75, leaving a significant body of abstract paintings.

    Clyfford Still

    Clyfford Still was born on November 30th in 1904 in North Dakota. Clyfford Still started his life not liking art. He then grew into the Abstract art which is his only paintings.

    Philip Guston worked with Clyfford to start up in abstract art. He helped him to be creative, and go with what he thought was art think is art. Franz Kline and Barnett Newman were two friends of Clyfford who helped him become an artist, by helping him to get into a good college for art. Also gave him a few ideas to come up with some of his paintings.
