How do
plants make
their food?

By Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants make

their own food, by using carbon dioxide, water, chlorophyll
and sunlight.

Requirements for Photosynthesis

1. Carbon Dioxide
2. Water
3. Sunlight
4. Chlorophyll

1. Carbon Dioxide: Plants get carbon dioxide from air.

Air has 0.03 % of CO2. .

2. Water: Plants get water from the soil through

their roots .

Plants take water by roots

3. Chlorophyll : It is the green pigment present in

green leaves. Chlorophyll is present in the chloroplast of
cell .

4. Sunlight: Sunlight is light from Sun .Plants perform
Photosynthesis only in the presence of sunlight.
