    Dresden, Germany under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Dipl.-Wirt. Ing. Chokri Cherif.

    Dr. Assad Farooq achieved the "summa cum laude (Distinction, with highest honors) with his very interesting thesis entitled Development of Prediction Systems Using Artificial Neural Networks for Intelligent Spinning Machines. Furthermore, his work has been published in the four reputed international research journals and presented in the three international conferences. After completing his Masters from Department of Fibre Technology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, with a focus on yarn spinning, Dr. Assad Farooq worked for two years in a spinning industry in Pakistan. He served the Department of Fibre Technology as lecturer for 4 years. He was awarded the PhD scholarship under HEC programme Ph.D scholarships for Engineering and Sciences in Germany in 2006. After the successful completion of PhD, the scholar has returned to Pakistan and joined his parent University.
