A PROLOGUE:

• A massive earth-quake measuring 5.9 Richter scale struck Yogyakarta & Central Java on
27th May 2006, causing casualties on thousands of lives & massive destruction on
buildings.
• Sai Council Indonesia have conducted several humanitarian tasks in the following
categories:
1. Supply of basic daily needs.
2. Public (soup) kitchens.

REPORT:

• A simple ceremony was conducted on Sunday 27th August 2006, to mark the
inauguration & the handing-over of several newly reconstructed buildings with the
support of Sai Council Indonesia.

• The buildings that were rebuilt for the community were:

1. Personal building Æ houses for the victims.
2. Public building, covering:
a. Musholla (a small building or room set aside in a public place for
performance of Islamic religious duties), and
b. Water tank (storage).
