Leaders in Action is a FLOC after-school program held once a week for 2 hours, immediately after school. The main focus of the program is to help children develop strong leadership and teamwork skills through field trips, hands-on activities, guest speakers, and community service projects. Students in the program will be invited to the OEC to explore and learn about the environment. The children will, in turn, utilize the skills learned in the program to become more powerful and effective leaders within their own communities. For more information, or to volunteer with the Leaders in Action program, please contact Katie Nolan at 304.725.0409 or knolan@floc.org. The program used to be based out of Charles Town Middle School, but it has since moved to Harpers Ferry Middle School. Currently, the program is held every Tuesday at Harpers Ferry Middle School, with 10 students shuttled from Charles Town Middle School. This year the goal is to have the program at Harpers Ferry Middle School and Charles Town Middle School. Our proposed day of meeting for Charles Town Middle School students would be every Monday from 3:00pm 5:00pm to be held at Charles Town Middle School.
