EQUIPMENTS & MAINTENANCE

OBJECTIVE A. To be able to outline the isometric flow of the integrate x-ray circuits supplying the x-ray tube. B. To be able to identify the significant location s &components of each individual circuits. C. To be able to identify the relevant principles of electricity & its characteristics as applied & used in x-ray circuits.

PROCESS A. Describe each of the following; a1. Main Power Line a2. High Tension Line a3. Filament Circuits a4. Variable Rheostat B. Illustrate the following & identify each of the components (including necessary devices e.q rectifier, transformers , etc) b1.High Tension Circuit b2. Filament current C. Provide the relative mathematical equations in obtaining c1.Power Rating( Watt) c2.Current Rating (ampere) c3.Electromagnetic force

Main Power Line - General purpose Alternating Circuit(AC) electric power supply.

High Tension Circuit -uses a step-up transformer to develop the thousand of Volts needed to provide Xradiation.

Filament Circuits - electric circuit to produce the heating current in the region of 5A at the Voltage of 12V to the filament wire of x-ray tube
Variable Rheostat -2 Terminal variable resistor often those are designed to much higher V&I typically those are constructed as a resistive wire wrapped to form a toroid coil with a wirer moving over the upper surfaece, the toroid sliding from one turn of the wire to the next

Power Rating (Watts) Power=current potential Watts= ampere x volts kw=mA X kVp 10000 Current Rating (Ampere) I= V/R or I= P/V Electromagnetic Force Ratting ( volts) V=P/I or V=I/p
