REPORT OF THE SEMINAR ON ROLE OF MEDIA AND ITS INFLUENCE ON YOUTH

The part of our project is to arrange an activity in university through which we can influence the students. So we selected the topic that how the youth of Pakistan can be influenced through the media and what role media is now playing in creating awareness among the youth. The main purpose of our topic is to communicate to the youth about the current crisis and their solution through media. Background of our activity is very clear that we want to create awareness on the influence of media on youth of Pakistan. But the problem here is that as Pakistan is going through huge number of crisis and instability, it is creating more depression especially among the youth of the country. The main objectives of our activity are

Creating awareness on influence of media on youth. Encourage media to promote awn culture. Encourage media to promote art, science and literature.

So we decided to conduct our awareness program through seminars and other sessions. In the initial stage of our activity, we held a seminar on October 3, 2011 in which we invited Miss Asma Chaudhry. She is currently serving as a lead anchor person and hosting a popular program IN SESSION on dunya news. She is recently awarded with the best anchor female in second Pakistan media award 2011. The guest speaker shared her views about how todays media is playing its role in creating awareness among people. She also further highlighted that how the youth is getting influenced through media. Moreover in her views she said that media has created opportunities for the females that how they can play their role in this society and prove themselves as an important part in the development of country. After sharing her views, we had a question and answer session at the end in which students raised their opinions about the media and their effects on the society in positive as well as negative manner. At the end, we want to say that the seminar proved very successful. It was arranged with full discipline. The purpose of conducting this seminar is to know about the role of media in influencing the youth in positive as well as negative manner. Moreover, we are also very thankful to our course supervisor Sir Asif Ayub Kiyani who encouraged us a lot in conducting these activities.
