A LASTING NAME
Leonardo was possibly the most versatile genius in the history of mankind, consistently demonstrating ideas far ahead for his time. As a painter, architect, engineer, draughtsman, botanist, and anatomist he spent most of his time researching and inventing.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT HIS LIFE


He never attended public school.

He invented the scissors and hydraulic pumps.


He invented the bicycle 300 years before it appeared on the road. He never married or had children. He wrote most of his notes using mirror writing. Some believe that this was to keep his ideas secret. Unusually for the era in which he lived, Leonardo Da Vinci was a vegetarian, for humanitarian reasons. He was born out of wedlock. He only left about 30 paintings and a lot of them weren't finished.
