A REFLECTION

Doing such an activity like an outreach program is one way of knowing

how Jesus shares his life and goodness to us. I joined the outreach program at
the Santo Niño Pandacan Chruch where I became one of the lectors in
Children’s mass during Sundays. It was fun and great since I became part of
the church’s community and at the same time I feel good because I came to
meet people involving their selves in the church especially these children.

The outreach started in the afternoon, after lunch where children are
gathered in the court and piled up eating snacks. Then, the children were
grouped and had their bible sharing. I was astound because some of the
catechists are teens and they were very good to share their ideas and
thoughts in a storytelling way. I also became one of them, together with my
friend Charlot.
Before the bible sharing, we played a game; it was fun and knowing those
children were very participative.

After that, we proceed inside the church, where I participated as the lector of
the 1st reading. All in all, the day was fun at the same time there is such kind
of sense of belongingness and fulfillment in myself. I learned a lot. It was an
enjoyable experience.

Being a Christian, most of us are difficult to participate on this kind of activity

more so, lot of people could have reasons for that, but then the feeling of
participating in the church service is different. What really important is,
“doing your service is pure and really comes from the heart. No matter how
you serve or how much you have serve, the goodness and sincerity should
always be there.”
