Centre a fixed point at the middle of a circle which is equidistant from all points on the circle Circumference the perimeter of the circle. Radius a straight line drawn from the centre to any point on the circumference Diameter a straight line joining any two points on the circumference passing through the centre. The length of the diameter is twice the radius. Chord a straight line joining any two points on the circumference. The Properties of Symmetry in Circles

A circle is symmetry at any straight line that passes through its centre. The diameters of a circle are the axes of symmetry of circle.

Properties of Symmetry of Circles

1. A radius that is perpendicular to a chord divides the chord in two equal parts vice versa. 2. The perpendicular bisector of two chords, intersect at the centre of a circle.

Properties of Symmetry of Circles

3. If two chords of a circle are equal in length, then the chords are equidistant from the centre and vice versa.

4.

Chords of the same length cuts arcs of the same length.
