Analyse the title sequence of a film What is a title sequence?

A title sequence is the method by which cinematic films or television programmers present their title, key production and cast members. After this has been shown the main film begins. This information was obtained from Wikipedia, so it helped be to get a better understanding of what a title sequence is, and what key elements are included in it. The title sequence I will be anaylsing is the psychological-thriller of Saw (2004).

This is the logo of the company who produced the film. From watching other title sequences, I have noticed that in many of the movies in the opening title sequence, this is how they start it.

This is another company logo used, and this logo is the company which helped produced the film. Twisted Pictures is an independent production company, mainly creating films of the horror genre.

The opening goes on to saw who specifically produced the film, and in this case it is Mark Burg and Oren Koules.

Then it goes on to tell us who directed the film, in this case the film was directed by James Wan, who is known for directing many thriller/horror films.

Further into the opening sequence, the film then shows us who has written the film, and in this case Leigh Whannell, who is known for his work on the psychological thriller franchise of Saw.

It then tells us who the else the film is featuring. Cary Alwes stars as Dr. Lawrence Gordon and Monica Potter stars as Alison Gordon. Danny Glover and Ken Leung also feature playing the roles of Detective David Tapp

(Glover), and Detective Steven Sing (Leung)

The title sequence then ends with the final text, telling the audience who the main stars are, and thenafter this, the main film is then played. Michael Emerson plays Zep Hindle, Shawnee Smith plays Amanda Young, and Tobin Bell is the main antagonist who plays John Jigsaw Kramer.
