Kansas Dont Spoil It Calendar Contest

For the 13th year now, the KDHE Bureau of Waste Management has sponsored the Kansas Dont Spoil It calendar contest for Kansas students in grades K through 12. Each year, we receive thousands of entries from students who have done their best to create artwork that raises environmental awareness and encourages recycling and other environmentally friendly practices. This is your opportunity to help to select the artwork to be featured in the 2012 calendar. For each grade level five pieces of art work have been selected for popular voting. Again this year, we are pleased to offer an online voting system to increase the number of people who can participate in the selection process. We invite you to take a look at the wonderful artwork and creative ideas submitted by these 65 semi-finalists. Voting is easy. Just click on the following link and you will be guided through the process: CLICK HERE The votes will be accepted through Friday, October 21. After you vote, you will be invited to send us any comments or questions you may have about the artwork or the contest. Some may have already voted, and if so thank you! The winning students for each grade level will have the opportunity to meet Governor Brownback in November and will also receive prizes for their efforts. Thank you in advance for voting and in doing so, demonstrating your support for the hard work of the participating students and your interest in promoting environmental awareness in Kansas. The announcement for the 2013 Calendar Contest will be sent to schools in August of 2012. So if you have children or know teachers that didnt get a chance to participate in this years contest, keep us in mind for 2013!
