[DATE] [Recipient]: I wanted to thank you for the meeting yesterday and for this opportunity to work with [ClientCompany]. I believe there are some tremendous possibilities within your organization. Per our conversation, I have identified key areas for [services to provide] in regards to your technology infrastructure. This project will result in [explain the desired result]. This proposal includes the following sections: Scope of Work o Deliverables Schedule & Fees Assumptions Authorization Additional Services References

Scope of Work
[The scope of work should identify key work to be performed. You can break each section using a bold heading. Only go into as much detail as you believe the client might need to make a decision. Going into a detailed technical description can be counterproductive. If the client perceives the project as too technically complex, he might cancel the project or hold it until a later date. If a client needs additional technical information, he will ask. In most cases, he does not.] Work Item [Enter a basic description that describes the work to be performed and its objective.] Network Integration Provide an integrated and switched network environment. This involves identifying and selecting appropriate equipment based on internal analysis, desired performance, and redundancy. Also provide configuration and installation services for all equipment.

Deliverables
Identify any deliverables in the form of analysis, documentation, and final working product or environment. The following bulleted list provides an idea. Technology Map/Blueprint Needs Assessment Implementation Plan Prioritized Recommendations Hardware Assessment/Plan Areas of Concern/Suggestions Site/Remote Technology Assessment/Plan Simple Security Plan (Base Policy and Technology Overview) Remote Worker/Mobile Worker Strategy The Initial Scripting FrameworkUnified Logon Scripts Include a short paragraph or sentence that explains that the deliverables can be modified in name, but the overall project deliverable will meet the scope of work objectives. This allows you to provide more flexible solutions and documentation.

[DATE] [I include references with my initial proposal for every potential client. At some point, the client is going to ask for them, and including them with the proposal lets the client know that you are prepared to have your past work checked before he makes a decision. It also cuts down any back and forth time. If the client likes your proposal, you dont want him to have to contact you about referrals. This way, he has all the information he needs to make his decision.
