Company of Night I was strolling down to church in the middle of night, When a lone female on a bench, asked me outright,

If I was looking for company to warm the slight, Chill in the breeze in the cool autumn night! I looked at her close, in the full moonlight, Saw a pretty young smile, my heart's delight, I took her arm in mine, to be gentle and polite, It was second nature to her, no sign of fright! We walked for a while, enjoying the spright, Of figures in the street, looking out to excite, The senses to extreme, so as to take flight, In a strange sea of darkness, devoid of blight! Under sheltered shades, she led me out of sight, Of perceptive prying eyes, up late for a bite, Of hot tea and biscuits, to soothe the appetite, Of a weary, sleepy soul, just wishing for respite! Through unknown mysteries, I was made upright, And motioned for more, from a true socialite, Holding on for ever, in a life-and-death fight, An explosion was inevitable, pure dynamite!
