POWERPOINT MAKER: Rainier Francis S. Tomista

Goal - To be able to solve the situation of Mr. Esperanza; To be able to save him
from being out-of-business because there is no adequate capital for the production of his toys.

Role - Mr. Ronald Esperanza is the owner and the manager of the TOMI N
FRIENDS, a toy company that has 62 branches all over the Philippines, half of which are about to close because there is no enough capital to cover for expenses in the production for the toys.

Audience - The targeted audience are the children who are mostly boys who want
to buy and play with these toys.

Situation - Mr. Esperanzas business is already about to close down because the
money for the production of the toys are not adequate. In a branch of his store, there are 2 kinds of toys that are daily best-sellers, one is the train that is sold 50 pesos per piece and the car that costs 25 pesos. He should come up with the right number of combination of toy trains and toy cars to be produced using only 5000 pesos as a daily working capital for the production of these toys. Mr. Esperanza is also interested to know if a total combined production of 300 pieces of toy trains and cars will be enough to sustain his business and not incur any losses to his operations. Representation: Let x - be the number of the toy trains y - be the number of the toy cars

Equation: Solution:

50x + 25y 5000 50x + 25y 5000

x + y 300 x + y 300

25y -50x + 5000 25y -50x + 5000 25 25

y -x + 300
m = -1 b = 300

y -2 x + 200
m = -2 b = 200

S.S. = {(50, 100)}

note: the S.S. is within the overlapping shaded region

Graph:

Product The best-selling products in Mr. Esperanzas toy store are toy trains and
toy cars. Mr. Esperanza needs to produce 50 toy trains at 50 pesos each and 100 toy cars at 25 pesos each in order to be covered by his daily working capital of 5000 in his toy store. Number of toy trains = 50 Number of toy cars = 100
