Laryngology 2011, Cutting Edge Laryngology for the Twenty First Century - the three day conference was

held in London from 20-22 June, 2011 and featured both current and future trends in laryngology, ranging from airway reconstruction to neuro-laryngology. The conference featured a panel of international and UK speakers with a rich scientific programme that provided an exchange of knowledge as well as networking opportunities for participants. This inaugural Meeting consisted of lectures, instructional sessions and hands-on practical sessions and was very useful. As the fastest growing sub-speciality in Otolaryngology today, Laryngology also overlaps with a whole multidisciplinary group of professionals who are engaged in managing patients with airway, voice and swallowing disorders. Some of the topics that were discussed at Laryngology 2011 included clinical practice and out-patient procedures, tissue engineered trachea, complex airway management, laryngeal pacing, dysphagia and laryngeal re-innervations. Conference covered all aspects of laryngology with the main focus on complex airway management, office based procedures, voice and dysphagia. It also provided an update on the current development on tissue engineering, tracheal and laryngeal transplant.
