Police searching for missing man Updated: Missing man found safe
Howard County police are searching for a missing 73-year-old man from Columbia. A family member last spoke with George Steve Schulmeyer by phone from his home in the 5600 block of Columbia Rd. around 2:30 p.m. When the family member arrived home at 4:30 p.m., Schulmeyer was gone. He was reported missing around 7 p.m. Schulmeyer suffers from a medical condition and the early stages of a cognitive disorder. Police are concerned for his welfare. He is described as a white male with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing silver glasses, a dark blue jacket, dark green shorts and a beige Carnival cruise line baseball cap. Police believe Schulmeyer is on foot and is likely still in the area. Anyone who sees him should call 911. UPDATED Oct. 14, 1:40 a.m. George Steve Schulmeyer was found a few minutes ago in good condition. ###
