Study Sheet for Semester 2 TATs

Subject: Science Year Level: 9B Teacher: Mr Reedy

Task in the TAT: Answer test questions on light. Use knowledge of forensic techniques to analyse evidence and solve a crime. Time allocated for the TAT: 10 minutes reading time, 80 minutes writing time.

Specific areas/topics that need to be studied: Light Refraction, Total Internal Reflection, Lenses and image formation, the eye, colour and how we perceive it, what happens when we mix colour Forensic techniques Fingerprints and Casts but most important aspect will be ability to read and understand evidence and use clear, logical thought!

Ways to approach study before the TAT: Begin studying at least two weeks before the exam and complete at least two hours of study a week for science, in addition to homework. Prepare carefully for the Forensic section.make sure you are aware of the details of the crime you are investigating and the evidence collected from the crime scene. Bring these documents with you! Specific home tasks/ ways to study at home: Read relevant text book chapters and answer activities and check and challenge questions. Go over your past test on light. Ensure that all wrong answers are corrected. Review key terms sheets. Look at Powerpoint notes on student resources. Work through revision booklet. Ensure that you see your teacher or attend homework help if there is anything that you dont understand or require extra help with. Prepare detailed notes in the pre-TAT booklet
