PRESIDENT SATAS RESPONSE TO CAPITAL FM RADIOS PRESS QUERY LUSAKA, Thursday, October 13, 2011 Below is our response to the questions you forwarded to His Excellency, Mr Michael Chilufya Sata, President of the Republic of Zambia.

1. How would you describe your meeting with President Bingu wa Mutharika at your inauguration as new President of Zambia? Answer: His Excellency President Michael Chilufya Sata never met with His Excellency, the President Professor Bingu Wa Mutharika.

2. There is widespread interests in Malawi on your case in which you were declared Prohibited Immigrant by President Bingu wa Mutharikas government. Are you still pursuing this matter in court or has there been an intervention by the Malawi government to drop your status? Answer: President Sata is proceeding with the court process.

3. What specific measures do you want the government of Malawi to pursue on this matter? Answer: President Sata feels that it is exceptionally necessary for his brother, President Wa Mutharikas government to apologise for the 2007 incident.

4. Representatives of the Malawi Government have said they cannot deal with these issues through the press. Do you share this view? Answer: No, we do not share that view.

5. On the economic front- are you going to introduce any major new policies particularly in regard to the mining industry? Answer: Yes, President Satas administration is determined to see increased investment especially in the mining sector which guarantees both the investors and Zambians mutual benefits.
