LEGISLATIVE RESULT: Pass
Be it hereby proposed that the following be enacted: Whereas, the Student Association Senate passed bill .1011-119R, which it was stated that the legislative agenda would include: Implement a Rational Tuition Policy increasing tuition by a maximum of 5.5% each year which is 1.5 times the 20 year average of the Higher Education Price Index. And Whereas, the enacted Tuition Policy is currently increasing the tuition at our University from $4,970 to $5,270 next year, which is an increase of over 5.69%, and, increasing the tuition at our University from $4,970 to $6,470 over the next 5 years, which is an increase of over 30.0% Therefore be it resolved, That the legislative agenda is to oppose the current tuition increases, And, therefore be it resolved, That the legislative agenda will continue to oppose the tuition increases until other portions of our legislative agenda are achieved
Be it finally resolved, that copies of the resolution be forwarded to: The office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, The Chair of the NYS Assemblys Higher Education Committee, The Chair of the NYS Assemblys Ways and Means Committee, The office of SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher, The President of the University at Albany George M. Phillip, The President of the SUNY Student Assembly Kaitlyn Beachner,
