A Bill to Legalize Marijuana 1Article I: 2Article II: 3 4 5 6 7 8Article III: 9 10 11Article IV: 12 13 14 15 16 17 Article V: The United States Federal

Government should legalize Marijuana. The United States Federal Government shall legalize Marijuana in all territories it has jurisdiction over. Marijuana shall be defined as derivations of the cannabis plant. Anyone with a High School Diploma, or GED, and who has reached the age of 17 shall be able to purchase marijuana. Those over 13 can purchase marijuana for medical reasons with parental consent. Taxation of Marijuana shall be done at the state level. The provisions of this bill shall take effect May 1st 2012 for those seeking medicinal Marijuana, and January 1st, 2013 for the other provisions of this legislation. Local police forces shall be responsible for monitoring the sale of marijuana, alongside the oversight they provide on tobacco. Those who break this law shall be subject to a fine of $500 for the first offense, the fine, and community service for the second offense, and the fine, community service, and the suspension of their drivers license for the third offense. After the second offense, violations will go on individuals permanent record. All laws or portions of laws in conflict with this bill shall be null and void.
