PREFACE

In the Cross Border Cooperation Program Serbia-Montenegro, Faculty for Management in Transport and Communications with the Delegation of the European Union-office in Podgorica has signed a contract for the project "Better cooperation for a better future". The main goal of this project is to improve social and economic development of border regions by establishing long-term cross-border partnerships between higher education institutions of the border region. Specific goals of this project are: development of a clear and scientifically-based concepts and ideas to enhance the competitiveness of the economy of the border region partnership of higher education institutions and relevant stakeholders and associates on both sides of the border, increase awareness about the real potential of development of the region and of course the development of strategies for future cooperation of higher education institutions in this region. This project includes the cooperation of the Faculty for Management in Transport and Communications in Berane and International University from Novi Pazar. The contract scheduled organization of four conferences (two in Novi Pazar and two in Berane) with the following target groups: university professors, researchers and the wider academic society that will be informed about the activities by public call and involved in the project by writing scientific papers which will be presented at one of four conferences, representatives of development agencies, representatives of business associations, municipal tourism organizations, political leaders and representatives of local governments. At the International University in Novi Pazar, the international conference with the topic "Small and Medium Enterprises-Possibilities and Perspectives 2011", was held on 25 April 2011. The goal of the conference "Communications and business sector" is, by realizing the objectives of the project "Better cooperation for a better future", to contribute to the implementation of the strategic goal for the Program " connecting people, communities and economies of border communities to jointly participate in the development of a cooperative, with the use of human, natural, cultural and economic resources and benefits", and hence integration of Montenegro into the European Union.
