    P. Ramlee was born in Malaysia and became a renowned actor, singer, composer and film director in the 1950s and 1960s.     1. Thank you Mr. / Miss Chairperson. Good morning to all judges, teachers, fellow contestant and audiences.

    I would grasp this honour today to tell you about my favourite actor of all time and also greatest artist P.Ramlee. 2. P. Ramlee was born as Teuku Zakaria bin Teuku Nyak Puteh. During his early age, he took music lessons. He learn to play the violin and guitar. 3. During the Japanese Occupation, P.Ramlee worked in a tin factory. During this time, he learned to sing some Japanese songs. His love for music was so strong that in 1947, he won a singing competition. 4. In 1948, he accepted the offer to work as a back up singer at Shaw Brothers Studio Film. P. Ramlee was interested in movie making, so he worked as a clapper-boy and an assistant cameraman.

    5. His first role was a villain in the movie, Cinta. P.Ramlee then started to compose music, wrote and directed Malay movies. 6. He won several acting and composing awards at the Asian Film Festival in the 1950s and 1960s. 7. On the 29th May 1973, at the age of 44, P.Ramlee passed away. Though P. Ramlee is gone, many people still enjoy watching his movies and listening to his evergreen songs repeatedly. Thank you.
