How To Populate a Field With Data From an External File

Solution Overview:

To populate a field with data from an external file the Set Fields
$PROCESS$ action can be performed from an Active Link.

Steps:

1. Create a field on the schema to store the filename. Let’s call it

‘Loadfile’.

2. Create an active link that fires on a button

a. The action is a Set Fields

b. The field to be set would be optional, most likely a diary field

Note: Remember, whatever file that is being pulled in cannot

exceed the defined size for the field.

c. The Set Fields operation should look like $PROCESS$ cat

$loadfile$
