Abstract

Nur Saadah (207500267): Code mixing Analysis on Belia Column In Pikiran Rakyat Newspaper Langauge can be divided into two forms speech and written, both of them have good relation. The globalization has a great contribution to intensify the contact between Indonesian and English. Many English terms had already been taken in Indonesian mass media. The data in this research were the sentences containing the code mixing on belia column in Pikiran Rakyat newspaper. There two main problems, which were formulated in this research: 1) What are the morphological process of words and phrase in code mixing text that appears on Belia column in Pikiran Rakyat Newspaper?. 2) What are the reasons of the using of code mixing on Belia column in Pikiran Rakyat Newspaper based on the writers opinion? The researcher used some theories in analyzing the forms of code mixing which were accumulated into four points. There were defintion of code mixing,morphological process of word categories that consist of affixation, reduplication and compound, phrase categories that consist of noun phrase, verb phrase and adjective phrase. There the reason of the using code mixing in Belia coulmn. In collecting the data, the researcher used documentation and interview method. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method to describe and analyzed the code mixing. The result of this research paper show that: 1) There were three forms of morphological process of word categories in code mixing text and three forms of phrases categories. In word categories there are 42 data that consist of 26 data of affixation, 5 data of reduplication, and 11 data of compound. There were 23 data that could be classified as phrase categories. They consist of data including 16 data of noun phrase, 4 data of verb phrase and 3 data of adjective phrase. 2) The reason of using code mixing could be classified as follow: a. More interested, b. Situational factors, c. Adapted to thereaders, 4. Language attitudes including social dominance.
