Subject: Institute's Policy on Short Term Live Projects (STP) OBJECTIVE

The objective of STP is to enhance student-industry interaction and student should acquire some kind of experiential learning. The good quality project contributes to the employability of the student. As it is not a credit course, student should take initiative to arrange short term project for themselves with the industry.

GUIDELINES
1. Students would be permitted to undertake short term projects with business firm during Trimester II, III, IV & V. After the project has been identified & allotted to the group of students, they have to make request for a mentor from the Institutes side. Not more than two such projects is permitted in two years for any student. 2. The request for STP should be made along with a letter (on the letter head) from the firm mentioning the name (s) of the students, the project title, name & contact (mobile) number of the industry guide, period and commencement date. 3. STP is be authorised by the chairperson / coordinators. Generally, STP is permitted if CGPA of the student is 6.2 or above. However programme chairperson may recommend a STP for other student as well. 4. Students undertaking STP would be granted attendance of one week in Trimester II & III and of two weeks in Trimester IV & V during the period they are engaged in the project. The leave of absence can also be considered in bits and pieces but not more than as prescribed. 5. They have to regularly report on the progress of the project to their mentor. 6. At a given period of time maximum 20% students would be allowed time off from classes for such projects. Programme coordinators / academic managers to maintain adequate records. 7. On completion of the project, students would be required to submit a certificate from the Company along with the project report to the Course Coordinators and CCR. During time slots allocated by the Course Coordinators, the students would also be required to make a presentation to the entire batch on the learning from the Project. 8. Please note that the Institute would not be responsible for transport and other logistics required during these short term projects.
