Upgrading My Personal Computer
Upgrading My Personal Computer
GOALS:
1. 2. 3. 4. Can get rid of the low memory, slow processing pop up messages. Multitasking will be no longer a problem. Heavy applications will be running in a smooth environment. Video tutorials, PDF books and documents and heavy files can be stored in the huge amount of memory for the references and guidelines. 5. Can be exploring, browsing, communicating and designing as well as listening to music on the same time. 6. Laptop usage will be minimized. 7. Can have a gaming session with the detailing graphics games like GTA, NFS, etc.
GENERATED IDEAS:
Brainstorming: - SEAGATE or WESTERN DIGITAL (WD)? 500GB is the amount fitting in my budget, so
now for the experience, I have been using SEAGATE from more than 10 years without any hitch. They both have the same price tag of 4K, warranty is 3 years. RAM DDR1 is also needed, so 3.4K for the NEW (with 12 months warranty) and 1.7K for the USED one (which is risky). This makes total cost 7.4K, but wait why shouldnt, I go for the machine upgrade. Now for the record, I am using this machine from 3 years, it was a good machine but upgrade is needed now, so exchanging this one with the latest according to the budget will be the right option. The changes will be: DELL Optiplex GX270 2.4GHz, 512 DDR1 RAM, 40+40 GB HDD (branded) exchanging with: DELL Optiplex GX620 2.8GHz, 1+1 DDR2 RAM, 500 GB HDD (branded). I get 4.1K for my unit and pay 11.9K for the new unit, so it will make 11.9K 4.1K = 7.8K which I can say is a good deal.
Discussion: - I have read the blogs and forums about the machine I am going to exchange and the response was positive. Also concerned with the family members and friends for the suggestions and guidance and found their confirmation to go for the planning. PLANNING 3 new goals will be achieved: 1. Built-in graphics enhanced from x8 to x16. 2. RAM extended from 512 MB DDR1 to 1+1 GB DDR2. 3. Processor upgraded from 2.4GHz to 2.8GHz.
