1 Basics steps in a new world

You have downloaded and installed the mod and you have generated a new map, but you really dont know where you begin. I must answer that : like all other map you have begin in, gather some wood, then some cobble and coal and build a little house (or a cave as you wish) for go through your first night.

Here is mine with little flower, have a pretty house is always a plus, even if its just for you, and I can easily expand it. Beware of the mobs if you are not in peaceful, the creepers can blow up what you built, so use some torches for light the area.

Keep in mind you will need lot of place for improve your industry, try to get a good spot with lot of space not too far away, like that sand plain I can see from my roof (and lot of sand for more purposes) Dont forget to add some chests and a bed in your little place

Nothing new here, but you must begin with a good base if you want to go further. Next part we will see new things.

2 in research for the first ingredients and first machines


You have a little base with 4 walls and a roof, with some chests, a bed, a furnace and a crafting table, but you want more I think and I agree with you, so take some axe we will gather our first needed material : RUBBER You will need LOT of lumber for build our first machine, an extractor, and a basic generator, 34 logs precisely, but take more it will be needed for power the generator and others stuffs. And keep the sapling, Ill explain why in a future section.

Can you smell the fresh air of new toys? So take 5 planks into the workshop and craft your first IC tool: a tree taps; Now craft 5 others ones and

extract rubber from logs like that!! I know, 30 planks + 18 logs for just 6 rubbers is expensive, but trust in me and it will cost less in a few time.

But for now drop that into a chest, and gather torches, pickaxes and food, we will go to the center of the earth!! The second thing you must gather is REDSTONE, yes that next-to useless red powder you have in astronomical quantity without an use of them are the base of the industrial electricity. Off course you will need an iron pickaxe for extract that rock, but you must be really unlucky if you dont find them on the path. And same thing for copper and Tin, there is lot of them on the way.

Here is a screenshot of a natural cave where you can see all-but three types of ores you can gather, from left to right: -Gold, their value is highly better with IC, especially in his dust form, its involved in mid-tech machines, we will come back in the future -the white thing in the top: Tin, involved in base of minecraft, you must have a little at the begin, luckily, their lot of them in the world - under the tin : Copper, like the tin, its involved in base of IC, like the cable, you must gather a good stock for the begin, and like tin, they are a lot in the world -Iron: EVERY SINGLE MACHINE use iron, its the ore you must hunt the most, you will be always short in iron, you know what you must do now. -Coal: his value was HIGHLY raised, if you want torches or furnaces fuel, think charcoal, the coal is involved in lot of things, include the most advanced. With macerated coal (coal in dust form) you can build solar panel, fuel, and lots of things like the nano-suit, in others worlds, you dont care about coal, in industry, its invaluable -the greenie or at the right : Uranium, yes you have listen right, uranium, like the thing you will need to power your future nuclear reactor, or to craft a NUKE to blow up a mountain !! Instead of that, they are not involved in other craft, its rarer than others ore, but can be found at every layers (need iron pickaxe to gather)

Further away in the cave: -redstone: good news, its much more faster to mine with IC (Alblaka have fix the bug Mojang left) it will not take you ages, like I said in the begin of that part, the redstone is involved in most part of IC craft, especially the basics one, we need some for crafting the first part of machine, and others things later -Diamond: ha the diamond, everybody run after them, try to get 3 of them and keep them in a chest, we will craft something awesome with, you must know we can craft an industrial diamond with coal, Ill show you later, there is more something else to do than waste them in tool or one-use armor. -not here but you know him: the lapis-lazuli: involved in the more advanced machines, you need BLOCKS of lapis for craft them, so if you find them now, just keep them until you need -lava: I know, its not a minable resources, but its a source of one of the most powerful generator: the geothermal generator, keep in mind where are some lava lakes to go later. -obsidian: you must need some obsidian for more than one raison: to go in the nether, you will need some glowing dust for mid-tech machines. The obsidian is the only thing that can resist a nuke, keep in mind the nuclear reactor can do a nice hole. And obsidian is a part of crafting an industrial diamond. You know what are all you can gather under the surface, continue to collect some resources and go back to your base for the next step.

A Mod by Alblaka Now youre safe at your base, we can smelt some of the ore you gather from your trip; but be patient and dont smelt all your ore, in a few times, you will be able to craft an incredible machine: the macerator, who will bring to you 2 dusts from one ore and other stuff ill explain in his time. So, before that macerator you must need an extractor and a generator, but for builds theirs, you must craft some Electric circuits, who need itself some cables, yeah, it seems something complicated, and it is, its why I write a little tutorial just for you. You must smelt in priority 3 coppers, then 9 others for a total of 12 After that, smelt 9 tins for be able to craft 3 batteries And you will need 27 irons you must SMELT AGAIN for create refined iron, which is a base of lot of machines and stuff

You remember the rubber you keep in the chest? Take it, and your copper too, we will create some cables, you see 6 rubbers and 3 copper for 8 cables, later you will need a large amount of them, but remember we must use 34 logs for be able to craft 6 rubbers.

And now we will craft our first electric circuit, you need 6 cables, 2 redstones, and one refined iron, like all other things on that page, its a base of the industry, so you must remember that recipe because you will repeat it a lot.

And now we must craft the recipe of all machines: the machine (yes, its the name of that part). Just bring 8 refined irons, and draw a box with them in the craft interface.

A Mod by Alblaka FINALLY we can craft our first machine, but we need just 4 mores tree taps, take 20 planks and craft them, after that take the 4 tree taps, a machine and an electric circuit and TADA you can plant your extractor where you want, but be careful, you cant dismount any machine by hand or you must craft again the entire thing, you will need a special tool made by a new metal, we will see that later. Ok, you have your extractor, but how does it work? You must need ELECTRCITY, made by a GENERATOR, now you know what will be our next build. There is 2 ways to craft a generator:

First, you can use a Battery, a Machine and a Furnace (8 irons used)

Secondly, you can use a Battery, 3 refined irons and a iron furnace (10 or 11 iron used)

As you can see the first one is cheaper, and I recommend you to use that recipe, and the 2 generator are exactly similar. I know you are questioning yourself: how to craft a battery and a iron furnace, for the iron furnace we will come back later, and for the battery its now!! 2 cables, 3 tins and 1 Redstone, easy no?

Time to remember that recipe.

But wait! You just used your last cables, its time to craft others, but this time we will not waste great quantities of logs. Go back in front of your extractor, and put 6 logs into the upper left hole, and put some redstones into the bottom hole (pure redstone is like a 1 use low-efficient battery but it work), then craft other cables with your rubber, and craft 2 battery, not more or you will need to craft another cable before being able to build a macerator. Now we can craft the generator to fill up your batteries, put the generator alone, Ill explain why in the wiring section, and then pu your 2 empty batteries in the upper slot and put some (char)coal or other thing who burn in the lower slot, you must need 3,5 coal for fill up a single battery, but it is more efficient. You can place a chest just near the generator; it will gather all yours filled up batteries. The empty batteries can stack up to 16, but the filled up cant be stacked; its the drawback of the reusability. With a fully charged battery, power the extractor for more rubber and cables, you must craft 2 mores circuits. Wrote By OKamilTan

A Mod by Alblaka And now, ladies and gentlemen, the time youre all waiting for: the incredible MACERATOR who cans double your mining productivity. Craft the 2 electric circuits I . asked for, another machine and 3 newly stone ne pickaxes.

Put your ores in the upper slot, and a battery in the bottom one, and wait for magically appear 2 dusts from one ore, then, put that dust in an electric furnace and you will have 2 ingots for one ore. What you dont know how to create an electric furnace? It will be our next and final step of that long section. You must know that the macerator can do more things than create dust from ore, it can create dust from coal too, the coal dust is used in a lot of things, and I recommend you to gather 3 or 4 stacks of recommend coal dust as soon as possible. The macerator can make flint out of gravel, it not seem, but its really useful, it can also make cobble from smooth stone, and, incredible, make SAND out of cobblestone, cool isnt it? nd And Now the electric Furnace, but before you need to craft an iron furnace, the second recipe is here because of certain mod who overwrite the 1rst recipe, but its the same thing

The iron furnace is 20% faster than the standard furnace, you will only need 6 coal for heat 60 units only in front of the 8 coals for 64 units for the stone furnace, but we can do faster, the Electric furnace:

I know, its another circuit to craft, but Ive warn you it will be anywhere. Like the other machine, you get the stuff you want to heat in the upper part, and the battery in the bottom, its 12.5% faster than the iron furnace, and there is no energy waste, if there is nothing, it dont consume energy.

You have 1 extractor, 1 generator, 1 macerator and 1 electric furnace, its a little, and you think you can use more things, and your right, craft 1 more generator, 2 macerator and 2 electric furnace, and all will be faster, font forget the batteries, 2 is not enough. You can see the inside of my little home, 3 macerators, 3 electrics furnaces, 1 extractor, 1 generator in view and 2 unknown machines, you can see Ive put a chest in front of my generator for gather the charged batteries when I stalk outdoor. 3 Basics of Wiring
Now you have a little but fully functional base, that allow you to get twice more ingot for every run you get. But you cant move any of the machine or you must rebuild it from scrap. Now we will craft the engi-friend tool: the wrench. But the wrench is not made in iron, its made of nd BRONZE. But I can listen your little voice: but I its a new ore I didnt found? Its so rare? YOU FOOL, bronze is made from COPPER + TIN.

You need the dust form of that 2 ores, and mix them in a 3:1 ration (place in the craft table doesnt matter)

After that, you have just have just to smelt the bronze powder in a furnace

And TADAA you have a new metal to play with, you can use the recipe to craft all the tools and armor you can build with iron, they are little slower, but they are 30% more durable HAYO. ou

With all that bronze you can keep your iron for build machines, and now, you know how to craft a wrench (the Y on the right screen, made of 6 bronze ingots). The use of a wrench is incredibly easy: just right click on the machine you want to remove, be careful, if the machine wasnt empty you will lose everything it contained. And sometimes you can make a mistake, and you cant retrieve the machine you craft, its unlucky, but it happen, only 4 machines can its be retrieve safely : MFE transmitter, HV transformer, terraformer and MINERs (we will see them later).

A Mod by Alblaka Now we can speak about electricity. You all know how electricity is created, and come to your house? No, its not magic. A generator must use another power (fire, hydraulic, solar, wind) to turn a turbine in order to create electricity, that electricity is transmitted by wires to the area you live then to your house. The electricity travel with different power, but we will keep 2 of them: high voltage, unable for use power, directly, and low-voltage, for domestic uses. And you need transformers (not the robots) to change voltage, that power. IC mimics that with 2 machines: - The HV transformer, who can transform high high-voltage into low voltage, and reversely, its the key for e long travel, more that 10 bloc in fact. - The MFE transmitter, who can store energy (NOTE: we will say EU for electricity or power for now) and can redirect EU to the usual machines.

1 Machine + 4 cables + 4 batteries for 2 MFE les Now you can craft the 2 machines, we can go on.

1 MFE + 3 cables + 1 electric circuit + 2 redstones for the HV

All the machines have input, like electric furnace, macerator, extractor, and so on, it mean you can attach a cable next to a machine from any direction for providing some EU INTO the machine. But the Generators have output, it mean you can attach a cable from any angle to PROVIDE EU, like that screen:

A Mod by Alblaka DO NOT connect more than 1 cable to a machine or generator; its a good way to completely annihilate your system. But what about the MFE and the HV? They have 4 inputs from the side and 2 outputs from upper and lower part, DO NOT WIRE THE UPPER AND DOWN PART IN SAME TIME, only the upper part will work. I said the MFE is used to store but they are here to redirect the EU

You can see a lot of thing on that screen, firstly, a basic generator with coal in it is wired from behind to a MFE side, it produce EU and send them to the MFE where they are stocked. Secondly, the MFE send from his up to an electric furnace who is burning something, no battery were used to transport EU from the generator to the furnace Third, the white thing count as a cable but creates LIGHT, they are the luminators Ill not ask you how to craft them for now, keep in mind it must be wired like cable and not like machine.

A Mod by Alblaka You know how to wire a single generator, to a single MFE to a single machine, but hey, you have several machines and generator, lets see how to wire them.

Here is a wrong way to wire several generator to a single MFE (as well a MFE to machines), because the EU will SPLIT at any intersection, and the MFE will only receive a third of each generator Note that Im lucky enough to take a screenshot of a cable between 4 other cables, but in few times it will disappear, so do not link any machine or cable with 4 cables linked to them. There is an exception and it worth the prize: the switch cable.

You must know that this restriction is here for prevent major lag causing by the calcul of the power, I dont know the detail, but dont do that. Now you can see a proper wiring, generators linked to 1 cable leading to a MFE, you could add a 2nd in his side, and if you put a cable on top of the MFE. Its not the more common way but it work.

This screen feature a proper wiring, 2 generators provide EU to the MFE, who provide itself EU to the furnaces at the bottom. The power will split 2 times from the MFE to the furnace, but its just the limit for powering machines and it work The standard 4 machines per MFE is easy to remember and to wire, and can be aesthetic Now, lets enjoy your wiring friend: the switch cable, who is able to endure up to 6

A Mod by Alblaka machines/cables liked to it. It has 4 INPUT from the sides and 2 OUTPUT by the up and down. (1 lever+1cable+3redstones for the recipe)

As you can see, the switch cable have 2 little but powerful uses, it can collect EU from his 4 sides (and his up if a generator is placed just on top) and can redirect in 2 directions: nd -To the bottom if no redstone is applied (like the left one) -or to the up if active redstone is wired, note or that the upper furnace is activated, its because of the switch cable redirect the EU from the MFE to his top. You know how to wire properly generators, but not the machines that require EU, that offense must the be avenged!!

In fact its really simple, put 4 machines in line on a cable (or wherever you want on it), do not extend that machine arm with a 5rth machine, there will not be enough power to activate it.

Time to talk numbers, yes, a new step in the complexity of that mod. The standards generators have a standard output of 5EU/s EACH, the MFE have a standard output of he 32EU/s and can hold 60000 EU unupgraded and the Furnaces need an input of 4 EU/s for wor unupgraded, working uninterruptly you follow? Well, ill draw that on the picture. Note that the cable lose energy as soon as there is a split, and if you want to add a 5th machine it will be received only 2 EU/s and be down half the time (but it work). So I recommend y create a you nd second wire with a 2 MFE at begin of it.

Like I said you can add a second wiring next to the first one, but do not stick them together, or you will have big loose of EU.

Note that I changed a little the wire before the MFE, the generators provide for each MFE half of his fully power, so the MFE will charge for 10EU/s in that case, so you will need to add more generator. Wrote By OKamilTan

And here we have some flower generators (later you will replace the standard one by something better), 1 switch cable surrounded by 5 generators, with somes cables leading to another switch cable for providing power to a MFE (dont forget to get a redstone torche under the middle switch cable, remember it needed if you want a upper output, or simply place the MFE and the 2 cables between under the switch cable).

Have all your machines and generator in the same place is not always a good solution, it take a lot of place, and its not really beautiful, so we will see how to wire more seriously all your system.

A Mod by Alblaka Firstly, we will talk about energy lose on distance, like IRL, the more the electricity have to move, the more is the resistance, and so on for your losing power. In IC its simpler to calculate that depletion, the 9 first cables from an EU output (generator or MFE) are perfect, no lose, after that, the 10th cable, you will lose 1 EU/s per 3 blocks away. For simpler explanations, see the screen below. The pumpkins are here for help you to count the distance, they are spaced 5 blocks away each, nothing related to the cable itself. The torches are here for show you whats cable have energy (in EU/s) below from their precedent one. The generator have an output of 5EU/s, its the same for the 9 firsts cable, but at the 10th one the energy drop to 4EU/s, and 3 blocks after 3EU/s and so on for a complete lose of energy.

With your actual tools and knowledge, you can wire a long way without lose, but it require LOT of MFE linked together with cables. But I have a cheaper and better solution: the HV transformer (the recipe is at the beginning of this section). The HV have to only purpose to help to wire on long distances (when I say long, its more than 10 blocks), he have 2 outputs: a HIGH voltage output who send SPIKE of 2000 EU, who can melt anything but cable and other HV, and a low voltage output, who send 50EU/s when received a spike of EU.

A Mod by Alblaka If you wire any machine or MFE to the upper output of the HV (like 1rst screen) you will have a little hole like the 2nd screen, you have been warned!! Do not play with electricity no I joke, we will have a funny time with. I showed you what to not do, and now, a right screen:

From left to right: a single MFE representing any EU provider you could build, wire to the SIDE of a HV, when the HV is charged with 2000 EU, it will launch them by his top to the cable, who can be as long as you wish, and send that spike to another HV SIDE, then that last HV will emit a 50EU/s power by his bottom to a MFE who will store them for some purpose (like wiring machines). Lets do some math: if you have a cable 99 blocks long, you will lose (99-9)/3=30 energy, if you try to wire that with a MFE who output a 32EU/s, who will have only 2EU/s at the other end, but if you use a HV who spike 2000 EU, who will lose only 30/2000*100=1.5% from each package. Ill let you compare the 2 method.

A Mod by Alblaka You know all the basis, place to some pro-tip:

The 2 MFE to the left represent a generator area for each, if the MFE are output for 32EU/s each, after the switch cable the HV get a 64EU/s INPUT and will launch twice much spike than the previous screen. At the other part, you can see I divided in two the wire, each part leading to a HV who provide EU to his part of the circuit. The two things combined allow you to have a big generator area (or several) and be able to transport all that energy to a product area with lot of machines. Here is my example of an industrial implement for transform lot of ores into ingots, 16 macerator on right and 16 electric furnaces on the left (you see the back) , I Hope it will help you.

A Mod by Alblaka A little wiring tutorial for efficiently wire 16 (yes SIXTEEN) machines to only one MFE Its easy, compact and requires very few cables (35 only) First you need to place 8 cables like that; it will be your plan Second place bridges on the 2nd layer like the second screen.

Third: another bridges one layer upper Fourth: place 3 mores cables between the middle of the 2 previous bridges and place a MFE in the middle (you can place a cable for upper the MFE if its more convenient for you) Five: place the machines, 2 per arm one under the other That wiring setup is clearly compact and has the advantage of losing no EU in transfer to the machines. All machines will received the exact same amount of EU/s, if the MFE is setup for a 32EU/s (the standard setup) all machines will receive exactly 2EU/s, and if you want a 3EU/s input, you can setup the MFE for a 48EU/s setup (we will see how to do that in the generator section) Beware to provide to the MFE enough energy input, because I f you use all your machines in same times it will be depleted in no times.

After all that you must integrate with the wiring you must take an aspirin, and if you need much more ores to expand your little base. I can listen someone in the back asking if there is new tools in IC, the answer is YES, there is INCREDIBLES tools!! Youre off to cut wood all around the day with a little axe and the strength of your arms? Lets use the power of our mind and use a CHAINSAW An electric circuit + 5 refined ingot + a battery (charged or not) You see that forest near your base? CUT IT DOWN!! Note that the chainsaw work very well on the zombies, SPLATTER HOUSE POWA!!

Hey why have you stopped? No power? OK, come back to your base, take one electric circuit + 4 cables and lets craft a mobile charger.

Just equip it into your empty hand, right click in the air and place your empty chainsaw at the upper slot, and a charged battery in the bottom one, and continue to cut down that fool trees. Youre off with the tree and you need more ores, but that old pickaxe seems ugly to you? Grab the same ingredients than the chainsaw and craft the incredible MINING DRILL. Now youre the king of the underground, you can mine as fast as the wind, no ore can resist you, and you dont have to carry huge amount of pickaxe that can break so easily (but dont forget the batteries).

A Mod by Alblaka What? You cant get enough? Ok, you remember the 3 diamond I want you to keep at the beginning of the tutorial? Its time for use them clever. Take your EMPTY or FULLY CHARGED mining drill and the 3 diamonds. Now with this Diamond mining drill you can dig REALLY FAST, no block can resist you, even that Obsidian is really easy to break.

What, you cant bear wearing all that batteries all along? The need to come back refill them too many times give you buttons? I think I have something for you: the Bat-pack Take 2 cables, 1 Tin ingot + 6 batteries in the same state (charged or not) Then take the batpack in your hand and right click to activate it, and put it on your chest slot, like armor, and now, you can use your electrics tools for much longer.

You must use a fully charged or half charged tool (empty ones doesnt work). Obviously, the batpack have the storage of 6 RE batteries. It must be recharged into a MFE, so be sure you have a charged one somewhere in your base

Youre ready to go back to the center of the earth. Whats that odor? It really smells bad!! It comes from your backpack. What is this greenie thing? A part of a pig? And you will eat that? Let me introduce the CANNING MACHINE who allow you to transport canning food with forever expiration date.

A Mod by Alblaka First you need some Tin cans for contain the food into, its only 7 Tins ingots for 8 tin cans

Then take 5 iron ingots + 1 treetap + 1 electric circuit and you have an UNMOBILE FOOD CANNING which doesnt require power to work

Place your canning machine, the right click into and place the tin can at the bottom hole, and your food at the upper place, and wait a few seconds, you will have some caning food, who are stackable HAYO !! But right now, it does too strong for your little teethes, you must open the can for eat the food. 2 methods open them in your crafting table, or right click when holding your cans. You will receive 1 opened can, which heal you for 1 heart each.

Lets talk about a new machine that has several uses, the COMPRESSOR Take 6 smooth stones, a machine and an electric circuit. Its like other machines; it needs power to work, so use batteries or wiring if you want.

The purpose of the compressor is to compress things.

You want lot of sandstone but you have only few sand? Compress it.

Using 9 light dusts to obtain a glow stone is too expensive? Compress the dust.

Do you know that diamond is compressed carbon? So YES WE CAN crafts diamond!!!

A Mod by Alblaka For start, we need some carbon, and coal is a good source of carbon (and the only one you can use), but you need to macerate the coal into dust. Then use 8 coal dusts and 1 fli to create a flint COAL CLUMP, then compress it and create 7 , others ones. You dont have a diamond anymore, for that you need to compress more your carbon, but you need a catalyst, that catalyst must be a really hard block, and I know only 3 that can handle the pressure, one of them is the Obsidian. Take your 8 compressed coal clump, one obsidian block and reassemble them into a COAL CHUNK Then compress it and OMFGBBQ!! You have an incredible (industrial) diamond!! Industrial diamonds are not as pure as natural diamonds, but they can be used for tools or industrial natural purposes.

The compressor is a machine who can help you to improve your technological level, every most advanced machines requires something done with the compressor. Here is a recipe you will need in future, but you can use now to make new building materials eed creepers-proof (they resist to explosion). proof You need 3 TINS, 3 BRONZES, and 3 REFINED IRON, and then compress it and you have advanced alloy. Take 8 smoothstones and 1 advanced allow to create reinforced stone. Or take 6 glasses and 3 advanced allow and create reinforced glasses.

And you can craft a reinforced door with the reinforced stone; dont let the creepers ruin your walls.

Have you ever see a bird flying around and think I wish I can fly? if yes, you will enjoy that part. wish Its a simple recipe: 6 refined irons 1 tin ingot, irons, 1 electric circuit ant 1 glowing dust You dont have glowing dust yet? Its easy to obtain, its that the lightblocks drop in the nether, you know, the yellow cubes who emit ellow light with ghast all around them. Now you stop whining, compress all that hydrated coal dust, it will become COMPRESSED HYDRATED COAL CLUMP, take some Tin with that and craft your first clumpy fuel But its not right now ready for a proper use, you must EXTRACT (with the EXTRACTOR machine) to obtain a FUEL can. You can use it to power your generators into a really efficient way, or you can create SINGLE USE BATTERIES which are single use but stackable.

You remember the sapling I ask you to keep into a chest? Take them and craft like the recipe (you can use reed, seed or cactus as well). After its just like the Hydrated coal dust : compress, take 3 of them + 5 Tins, then extract it, and you will have a cheap but low efficient BIOFUEL (1fuel = 2 biofuels)

Ho, and dont try to mix compressed H coal dust and compressed plantclump,to create cheap fuel, it will dont work

Now we have some fuel, why cant we try to fill up the jetpack? Take 2 fuels and your empty jetpack and fill it up (it work also in every 2x2 position) You can also fill up your jetpack with 4 biofuels in a X pattern Youre ready to fly. Like the batpack, you need to right click with the charged jetpack in your hand before equip it for enable the feature. For flying its easy, just hold the SPACE BAR, I think you must carry some canned food with you, ng because learn to fly is not as easy at is sound.

I think you enjoy your new toys, but you need more and more resource to expend your base, and your old generators are not so practical to use. Next time, we will see all the generators you can use, and how to wire them efficiently to your base.

5 more generators and more wiring


You must now have a good base, with several machines and some ores in yours chest. But arent you tired of your old-but efficient generators fire-powered? Ok, lets build some more greenies things for begin.

The WATERMILL Grab some wood, craft 4 sticks and 4 planks, get a generator in the middle, and voila, you have a little watermill generator cheap to produce isnt it?

There is 2 uses for produce electricity with the watermill, first, wire it like a generator, get 15 water bucket on you (or take 2-3 buckets and have a good water source near you) and fill the watermill without interruption. Yes its a lot of work. You need 15 water buckets to fill up one battery. The second use is to surround entirely the generator with water. You must know that watermill need to be next to water, and it SEEMS to be better the more water it touch the generator (just next to it or diagonally.

Firstly, we need to prepare the terrain, here is the layout for 1 watermill, dig a 3x3 hole, then place a temporary block in the middle and place the watermill and a cable on top (you cant place them in water). After that, remove the bottom block, build the wall and enrage against Notch about bad water mechanism when you try to fill up with water all the remaining place.

A Mod by Alblaka Here is a screen of what you must have, remember that pattern, you will need to use it with another type of generator. The output is very very low, and I think you want a little more, so next screen a 4x4 generator. .

And I think you will have lot of fun for wire the whole =) 2 methods, the all MFE, you will need 15 MFE to wire, 1 for each couple of generator, then one other for each couple of MFE and so on to the top one who collect the whole. Easy but expensive. The other method only require 3 MFE, 12 switches cables, 12 redstones torches (one per switch cable) and some cables but is more complicated to understand. Follow the instruction and all will be lightened. First we need to get out of water, so raise 2 cables more at the top of existents ones, then place any solid block in middle of 4 just out of the water. Place 2 switches cables one in front of the other and place redstone torches under each one. Place another redstone torch on the block and place a switch cable at top of the torch connected to the other switches cables. Then connect to a MFE because of the cable long. After that you just need to do the same thing with all others generators and connect the wire to a MFE at top.

Watermills dont produce lot of energy, but it will produce FOR EVER and without more work than place them into water and wire them. Ive done some test, and that 4x4 pattern give you 10000 EU in 90 sec, with my framerate, it can change for you. Have some watermill can help you, they produce energy for all time, day or night. And if you know what to do, you can wire them by under and have a beautiful lake near your base.

After playing with water, why dont we play with air? You need 1 generator, 4 cables and 4 irons. Windmill cant be placed anywhere, you must need some place around it, in a 5x5x7 area for be exact, I represented that with some ted glasses. And the more higher the generator is placed, the more he produces electricity. Like the watermill, it produces day and night without any man help. Of course, you can place some cable just under the generator for collect power, Ive add some screen , for a 1 and a 2x2 setup example. .

From now, we will go into real efficient generators world. One of them is the geothermal generator, basically its a generator powered by lava. Its entirely similar to a standard generator, even in power output, but it is powered by lava bucket, and contrary of the watermill, it doesnt generate power when surrounded by lava. You need 1 generator + 1 electric circuit + 4 glasses + 3 refined iron, you just put lava bucket in the bottom hole and wire it like a standard generator, I think you have understood.

I said its an efficient generator because it can power A LOT, and in conjunction with a MINER you can have infinite lava, but you need to place bucket yourself, its a little work, but you earn a lot.

A Mod by Alblaka And now, the most used generator, the power of the future coming to you: the SOLAR GENERATOR. The recipe is expensive, not because of the cost itself, but by the amount you will have to make. You need 1 generator, 3 glasses, 3 coal dust and 2 electric circuits. The only 2 things you must know is to dont place ANYTHING above a solar generator (glasses are reinforced glasses are the exception) and it only work in daytime, its a SOLAR generator you know. It produce little power, 1 EU/s per generator, but it produce without any help. And its easy to place correctly; you just need a sky view. Here is the more usefull pattern you could construc with solar generator, its called a SOLAR FLOWER Place one switch cable on top of few cables, and place solar generator on the 5 other faces of the switch cable. Hurray, youve got a solar flower.

But its only a begin, we will build a bigger solar flower. The begin is just like the little solar flower : 1 sitch cable on top of 2 cables, then place some other cables and a switch cable on top, and for end place solar generator on all switch cable (even the middle one top). Its a easy 21EU/s output, dont forget to place a mfe at the bottom cable.

Ok, thats enouth for a easy to make pattern, but it exist more optimized or elaborated pattern.

A Mod by Alblaka But now, the most powerfull generator: NUCLEAR GENERATOR Like IRL, you need to take some precautions, no you dont have to care about radiations, anyway, there is always a creeper to get you before mutating (or they are mutation?). No, simplier than that : mutating the generator can EXLODE, yes, youve listened right, it can explode so powerfull it can blow up a montain (or your entire base). There is only 2 block type that can resist to a point blank nuclear explosion: the obsidian, hard, black sion: and easy to mine with your diamond mining drill, and the reinforced stone (the bedrock dont count, you cant have any block by legal way). The reinforced stone dont really resist, it breack if there is a nuke, but everithing other is safe. ng You need 1 generator + 2 electrics circuits + 4 advanced alloy + 2 glowstones dust If you dont bother to destroy your base you can place it like any other generator, but I recommend to make a special room, filled with water. By itself, the nuclear reactor have a high chance of explosion (and its HUGE, like 2 times a nuke tnt) , but the chance will decrease for each water block in contact with the reactor (just like the watermill). BUT there is still a chance it explode, and not like for tnt, the water will not lower the explosion for radius or damage, you will need a layer of obsidian or reinforced stone to stop the explosion explosion. For begin, build a 5x5x5 house with reinforced stone. There is 2 holes in that layer, one for wiring output the electricity, and one f manipulate for the generator. Ive put a reinforced door in front of the hole to prevent any destruction in front of the hole, put you can put the door to BE the hole, it stop explosion like the reinforced stone. In the next 2 screens Ill show you how reinforced stone react to a nuke, Ive placed some weak material all around for a better explanation.

A Mod by Alblaka You can see all the cactus Ive placed all around, they have 0 resistance against explosion, same with the glasses on top, but Ive placed an obsidian block on top of the wiring, everithing will be blown up in axe of the hole, so if you have anithing important, I reccomand to place super-solid block between. Ive placed a nuke for simulate a nuclear explosion, and no water because it will absorb the nuke explosion (but not the generator one), and of course Ive closed the door after activate the nuke. On the second screen you can see what happen when it explose, all the reinforced stones diseapear, but all thing around stay like if nothing happened. You can see the cables diseapears too, but the obsidian stay, its immune to explosion and you can use that material for resistant reactor chamber.

Lets talk about the 2 fonctions of the nuclear reactor : refine and produce. Remember the ball of uran you got? You need to place them into a reactor if you want a usable combustible for lot of power. 1 uran ore give 4 uran ingots When you have that uran ingots, you can use them as fuel for your reactor Have fun with all the EU it generate.

Be sure you have enough storage, but this will be an another story.

How to install the mod


By Adien_Alexander 1.) Browse to your .minecraft folder. 2.) If you have a vanilla (unmodified) minecraft.jar file, skip to step 3. a.) Create a back up copy of your bin folder (This will save mods you have installed). b.) Start minecraft via 1.3 Launcher (The new one) and click 'Options'. c.) Click 'Force Update', and log into the game. d.) Congratulations, you now have a Vanilla .jar file. Exit minecraft. 3.) Open your bin folder and right click and open with your minecraft.jar with your preference of Archiving Software (Winzip, 7zip, Archive Manager, etc). a.) Delete the META-INF Folder. b.) Copy the contents of ModLoader's zip file into the minecraft.jar archive c.) Copy the contents of minecraft (Leave it's sub folders alone, as in copy them as a whole), Industrially Improved Pickaxe, and Experimental Nanosuit File from IndustrialCraft into the minecraft.jar archive and close it. d.) Copy the IndustrialCraftConfig.txt file into your bin folder. i.) Open IndustrialCraftConfig.txt ii.) Remove the # from infront of: enableNano=true, addMineableOres=true e.) After modifying and saving IndustrialCraftConfig.txt, create a second copy and paste it into your .minecraft folder (Depending on the OS and Launch Method, IC will read the config from one place or the other).
