Childcare Supervisor
Kitsilano Neighbourhood House is looking for a caring, mature, energetic, flexible and organized individual to provide leadership to our childcare programs. Hours: 35 hours per week, 21/hrs direct service and 14/hrs administration Rate: $16.59- $19.52 depending on qualifications, excellent benefit package Start Date: As soon as possible Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the program, communicating with families and caregivers, maintaining all licensing requirements and for providing 21 hours of direct service. The Childcare supervisor is also responsible for the planning, implementation and maintenance of Kits House Childcare Programs including program planning and delivery, financial management, program development, public relations, systems maintenance and human resources management. Qualifications Required: Post-secondary education in child development or related field; or combination of education and experience Minimum 2 years experience working in a childcare facility Experience working with special needs children is an asset Experience supervising staff, volunteers and practicum students Class 4 Drivers License (or willingness to obtain) mandatory Knowledge of licensing requirements Ability to manage a budget Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Ticket Minimum age 19 years (as required by C.C.F.L.B. regulations) Planning, organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to keep clear and detailed records and reports Ability to work in a multicultural, multi-programmed environment Ability to work with families of program participants Ability to work cooperatively in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization Second language is an asset Creativity, initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility and a good sense of humor.
