    What we are learning In Reading- The story this week is Try Your Best. We are working on the literary element of character. Our phonics study is the or combination in words.

    In Writing-We will begin having writing lessons on most days. The students are working on writing several ideas on a topic using spaces between words and a period at the end of a sentence.
    In Math-We will continue unit 2, Subtraction concepts. We are way through the unit. We will focus on problem solving strategies. In Social Studies-We will learn about Veterans Day and the history of Thanksgiving. We are having many discussions about good manners and treating each other with respect.

    Our Calendar *Fri., Nov. 4-No School! UF Homecoming-Go Gators! *Thurs., Nov. 10, 8:45 am-We will have a short program honoring our veterans. Come join us and bring a veteran. *Fri., Nov. 11-No School! Veterans Day. *Tues., Nov. 22-Save the date for our annual Thanksgiving Feast. *Wed., Thurs., Fri.,Nov.23-25-No School! Happy Thanksgiving! *Tues., Dec.6-Field trip to the Hippodrome to see the Christmas Carol.
